Most years, half a million tourists walk the beautiful shores of Newfoundland and Labrador. About as many people as the province’s entire population. But when borders closed due to COVID-19, hoteliers, tour guides, restauranteurs, and so many who rely on tourism for their livelihood felt it the most. Your Backyard Beckons is a campaign to encourage locals to rediscover home. Because in a place where the door is always open, we want to make sure our small businesses can say the same.
