Arriving in Denver City, Colorado, in 1861, Clee Fahr sees the town is torn apart by opposing military and political sympathies. Eames Jeffords, an old enemy of Clee's, is buying arms for the Confederates. Sam Massey, a mine owner, raises volunteers to join Union forces. Clee's caught in the middle--and both sides see him as a threat.
