When a group of nesters comes between the Pegleg and Sunblade ranches events are set in motion that will look set to destroy both the men who own them. Old John Sunblade had ruined many men to build his vast rangeland empire but Pegleg Johnson will be one of the last. Sunblade is a heartless man with the law on his side. His son Dane watches the ranch he grew up on torn out from under him when a third party steps in amongst the feuding. Dane is the only man to stand up to John Sunblade and though his father almost destroyed him once, he is determined to save the ranch and marry the girl he loves.
