Tedro Ames has lost his ranch and his sweetheart to his devil-may-care antics. He must either redeem himself, or resign himself to a future as the laughing stock of the Swiftwater area. A gang of ruthless blackmailers is terrorizing the town and leaving black aces with their ransom notes. Tedro gets a Black Ace, and when he meets up with another black ace victim, blacksmith Henry Kline, he knows what he must do.
