Learning her father has vanished on an expedition deep in the Brazilian jungle, Lanie Weber enlists the help of pilot Michael "Mac" Knight to join her on a rescue mission. But upon their arrival, Mac is attacked by a gargoyle-like creature--a creature Lanie realizes is a modern-day vampire.
