Ivan and Carolyn Koslovsky have made a pleasant life for themselves in the coastal Connecticut town of Black Harbor. Between Ivan's dental practice, Carolyn's part-time job at the ship supply store, and their two children, their days are busy, if somewhat predictable. That's all about to change, however, when their ten-year-old son, Peter, gets an anonymous birthday gift consisting of six pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
