Summary:
On a desert island north of Cape Horn, the biggest meteorite ever to have fallen on earth was discovered. The wealthy American entrepreneur Palmer Lloyd decided to appropriate it and add it to the collection of the museum he was having built in New York. But never before has such a large object been transported by sea. To achieve this, he is ready to sacrifice money and human life. He called on two men, Mc Farlam, a scientist and meteor hunter, and Eli Glim, an authoritarian and resolute man in the field. But the delivery of this interstellar object is difficult. It gradually appears that he possesses strange and disturbing powers. Many members of the expedition succumbed. Nevertheless managing to load it onto the tanker, Lloyd's team is chased by a destroyer led by a Chilean commander, who wishes to recover the meteorite on behalf of his country. A chase then begins through the ice of Antarctica.
