When the paths of a mother seeking sanctuary for her son Nicky and a doctor serving the immigrant population in Queens cross, the two suddenly become wrapped up in each other's callings, seeking a refuge of safety--for Nicky, for themselves, and for the needy people God unexpectedly puts in their lives.
