As the hills of Lancashire echoed to the celebrations of victory at Waterloo, a man stepped down from the Manchester coach at the Royal George at Millbridge. His name was Hal Vivian, Cornishman and engineer, and he had come to work with William Howarth, the Ironmaster of Wyndendale.
