The town of Button Harbour on Newfoundland's rugged southern coast is expecting chaos and carnage in the form of a Category-Two Hurricane. But unknown to the tiny fishing hamlet, another storm has already graced their shores ; a tempest named Corbin Dwyer. This is actually good news for the honest residents of Button Harbour, but the criminal cartel which has operated in complete anonymity had better batten down the hatches. After inserting himself into a deadly bar brawl to save a life, Corbin Dwyer inadvertently steps on the toes of criminal kinpin Nigel Cromwell, even though the mobster calls all the shots from his warehouse in the island's capital city of St. John's. Unknown to the folks of the secluded harbour town, Cromwell has set up a smuggling ring controlled by his ruthless and perverse son. When a local father is callously murdered by Nigel's thugs, Dwyer decides it's time to rid the town of its corrupt infestation, but with a hurricane on the way, he'll not only have to fight a well armed mob, but also the worst storm to hit the area in over 100 years.
