Streaking across the Atlantic three times faster than the speed of sound and thirteen miles above the earth, a supersonic transport turns into a nightmare for the 160 passengers and crew aboard Flight 01. Desperately trying to avoid deadly cosmic radiation from outer space, Captain Thomas Bartlett and First Officer Peter Kowsky struggle to keep the plane aloft despite a chain of events that, if not corrected will lead to certain catastrophe. In a race against time and technology, rapidly diminishing fuel supplies pose an additional threat to the lives of all aboard. Prominent among those aboard the craft are the U.S. secretary of state, a famous surgeon, a million-dollar thief, and a very pregnant young women.
