It’s rural Newfoundland in the 1940s. A young man falls madly in love with a young woman recently driven from her ancestral home of Argentia by the American Government who've constructed a base of operations for their fight against Hitler's Germany who are, literally, in local harbours. When he finally manages to make the girl his own, their romance drowns out WWII ready to explode around them. But a Sunday afternoon soon declares war on the man’s heart, as the girl of his dreams is swept overboard from his boat. Days and weeks turn into months and years, as the man spends every possible moment searching for the body of his lost love. Will he find her? Will he ever love another? Will he ever know peace again?
