ÔEric St-Pierre grew up surrounded by farm animals and dogs. Rebellious and dreamy, he first invested the world of music, where his foray earned him to be named revelation of the year in 1967 at the Gala des artistes. He then explored universes related to the canine world, until he discovered his vocation which led him to create the Mira Foundation in 1981 with the support of Johanne HallÔe, his wife and mother of his children. Despite the disbelief of those who saw in his idea only a wacky concept, he was able, through his audacity, to implement his project and make it prosper. From the very first award class in 1982, Mira has continued to innovate by awarding dogs to blind children, people living with motor disabilities, young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), to the latest pilot project set up in 2019 to award dogs to people suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
