It is said that everyone has a story. My story, Then ... Everything Changed, is a reflective and interpretative account of early life in the mid 20th century as experienced by a young boy in the small, isolated community of Shoal Point in rural Newfoundland. That lifestyle, as described, has been long gone from Shoal Point as it has been for most, if not all rural Newfoundland and Labrador. The major factor contributing to these changes was Confederation with Canada. Some considered this as a loss, others as a godsend. Whatever your view, this union was only the beginning of many changes that would impact the lifestyle of our small rural communities.
