Summary:
This is a book about Newfoundland and Labrador and its residents’ love of food. It is not a traditional ‘cookbook,’ per se (even though there are almost 170 recipes included), but rather a look at the history of how some of the various dishes that are typically served in both homes and restaurants around the province have evolved over time, and in some cases, continue to evolve. This book has arisen from my love of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador, their culture, and their food, and I have tried to be as accurate as possible in presenting the fascinating history on how ‘traditional’ Newfoundland cookery has progressed over time.
