Sammy the sealskin, a suitcase, tells the story of Charles Mardel's trip to Newfoundland. Shortly after arriving, Charles meets Toni O'Leary and together they explore historic St. John's. They also travel across the island taking in all the modern recreational and lodging facilities. All of the outport charm and the splendour of the island is captured as they stray off the beaten track.
