David Slaney, 25, jailed on charges of drug possession, has escaped and hit the highway. Evading the cops isn't his only plan; Slaney intends to find his old partner, Hearn, and get back in the drug business. Along the way, Slaney visits an old flame and adopts numerous guises to outpace authorities. When he finally finds Hearn just steps ahead of a detective hell-bent on arrest, their scheme sends Slaney to Mexico, Colombia, and back on a quest fueled by luck, charm, and unbending conviction.
