It was a done deal. Derek will return to Bombay from his Newfoundland sojourn. Get married to his lady love he has been romancing for years. Have a Newfoundland honeymoon and settle down to cozy family life. His wife-to-be is already two months pregnant. He wished for a daughter to be his firstborn child. Derek was crestfallen when that didn’t happen. He refused to accept the shattering of his dream on the eve of its impending reality. Fate can’t be that cruel. He has a bounden duty towards his loved ones to ensure their wellbeing. He is not going to the astral home; not until he finds a way to redeem at least a semblance of the sublime life vision he has conjured up. Years roll by.
