Summary:
This report presents results of surveys conducted in Newfoundland & Labrador to provide current information on trends in post-secondary enrolment of high school graduates. In 1996 & 1997, surveys were carried out to determine the post-graduation activities of high school graduates from 1995 & 1996. Graduates from 1995 who did not attend a post-secondary institution during the fall after graduation were also surveyed a year later to determine their post-secondary status. For both cohorts, reasons why students postpone or forego a post-secondary education were explored. Data were collected through telephone interviews and from information available in Department of Education databases.
