Summary:
Managing our moose. - Introduced to the island around the turn of the century, moose are now firmly established in every corner of the island. Some 12,000 are killed by hunters each year and many more by bears, cars and poachers. Traces the remarkable rise of the Newfoundland moose and examines present management problems. Included will be footage of the capture and transfer of moose to Labrador in the 1950's and modern techniques of tracing moose and bear movements by collaring and radio-telemetry.

Our seabirds - Newfoundland is home to millions of seabirds; turres, puffins, tickle aces, gannets, mother Carey's chick and many others. They nest on our isalnds, they compete with us on the fishing grounds. To some they're a vital link in the oceans food chain, to others a valuable tourist attraction, to many an important source of food. We focus on our seabirds and examine their place in the scheme of things.
