Summary:
Mathilde is a plastic surgeon and opens her private clinic. It seems that everything is going well, but appearances can be deceiving. Her husband Rogier was once a well-known psychiatrist. Unfortunately, he can't stand his wife's success, he drinks and is depressed. Despite her ample income, Mathilde has built up large debts. Their home is under renovation. During a growth course, Rogier met one Hylke who practices the contractor trade according to holistic principles. Work has come to a standstill because expensive, environmentally friendly materials are needed. Her son Thom is an adolescent who is not very happy at home either. He sees how his parents treat each other and is not happy about this. Then she 'coincidentally' meets her old school sweetheart Johan. Johan claims he has connections in the construction industry and Mathilde accepts his help. As a result, her life takes a completely different turn. Mathilde is good at her job, she can fix up other people, but she forgets to stand up for herself. Slowly but surely, Mathilde realizes that she has lost control of her own life. She blames Rogier for the failure of their relationship. But she is well aware that she was preoccupied with herself a lot. It seems that Mathilde is in a situation that she cannot get out of. She doesn't want to stay with Rogier, she doesn't want to lose him, she loves her son. And she doesn't want to lose her good name as a plastic surgeon. Maybe she should have thought of this sooner. But yes, how far do you go if you think that everything in life is feasible and achievable?
