Shirley Temple stars as a young girl sent to boarding school when her doting father is sent to war. Her father becomes missing in action and is rumored to be dead. Authorities at the school decide to let the recently orphaned Shirley stay at the school, but she is forced to work as a servant under the evil headmistress.
