The leg in plaster after his first day in his life skiing, Dominique tells his parents the adventures that took him to the hospital: the discovery of equipment (including the boots without laces!), the failure of the chairlift, the loss of his Mitt (which forced him to wear a rose, courtesy of his teacher), the lesson of the Martin Desneiges monitor slalom, the first descent (which he finished without skis!), the efforts of Antony, the only student experienced, to boost the morale of the troops, and, finally, the plate of ice waiting for him to return to his descent from the bus.
