In 1768, Father Vermond was sent to Austria. His mission: to perfect the education of the archduchess Marie-Antoinette, promised to the dolphin of France, the future Louis XVI. Between the tutor and the playful twelve-year-old girl a deep friendship is forged. Two years later, he accompanied her until her arrival on French soil, where her royal husband awaited her. The meeting went well, but Vermond is worried about the future integration of the girl in the court of Versailles.
