There are wide tidal flats on the west and south coast of Korea, where the difference between high and low tides is severe. Mudflats made of dark, fine soil provide abundant food and oxygen to various creatures living in the sea. It is also a precious guardian of nature that protects the ecosystem by decomposing and removing pollutants that flow from the land into the sea.
