Milo's high school career has gone relatively smoothly, and in senior year he figures he's overdue for an Epic Teenage Catastrophe. Marcos returns to their Florida high school for the first time since freshman year, and Milo must confront the long-buried feelings that he's kept hidden from himself and his deeply religious parents and community.
