Fred Landon is forty-two years old, out of a job, out of a marriage, and only tentatively in tune with his role as a father to his seventeen-year-old flower child daughter. Fred's life seems to hold no meaning, and is altogether too much like his former career - he's an eternally optimistic salesman who hardly ever manages to close a deal. But everything changes when one day he becomes aware of the mysterious Margaret who lives in the apartment above him. Then, a long-shot job selling real estate seems to be his for the taking.
