Everyone in the City has a specific job. Callie is a computer and works with numbers. Jeremy is a dreambender, who must remove thoughts of music and art from people's dreams to keep them focused on their tasks in life. But Jeremy can't bring himself to remove Callie's dreams of singing and must decide whether to follow orders or defy his community and let Callie follow her dreams.
