Summary:
This is a firsthand account of the explosion aboard the S.S. Viking in 1931, given by Clayton King, the ship's wireless operator. The Newfoundland sealing ship was being used in filming for the 1931 movie about the seal hunt, "The Viking". An explosion occurred while extra footage was being filmed, killing 26 people onboard, including the film's producer, Varick Frissel.
