One day while walking home with her mother, Lily encounters a homeless man selling papers. At first, she is frightened by his ragged appearance and insists on taking the bus home for weeks just to avoid him. But when the first snow falls, Lily sees the paper man again, and notices that he isn’t wearing any socks or warm clothing. Shocked, she overcomes her fear of him and begins to wonder what she can do to help.
